Lawyer

Lawyer at BC Ministry of Justice (Legal Services Branch)

After graduating from Brentwood in 2003, Brendan continued his education at Harvard University where he concentrated in government studies. While attending Harvard, Brendan continued rowing as a heavyweight for two years, then as a lightweight in his junior and senior years. Believing his rowing career had come to and end, Brendan went on to complete his Bachelor of Laws at the University of British Columbia.

Prior to becoming a solicitor at a commercial law firm in Vancouver, Brendan worked as a cashier at Thrifty Foods, as a framer in the greater Victoria area, and as a fishing guide on Langara Island in Haida Gwaii.

Shortly after watching the 2012 London Olympic Games from his downtown Vancouver office, Brendan decided his career in sport was not yet complete. After a five year hiatus from rowing, Brendan went on to represent Canada at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Brendan is now happily retired from competitive rowing (again), and is practicing law for the Province of British Columbia. His practice focuses on government procurement and commercial contracts.
