Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (in progress)

Since graduating from Brentwood in 2017, I have completed my Bachelor of Science degree at McGill University. I did a joint major in Computer Science and Biology. This is a program unique to McGill that integrates computational methods with biological research. During my time in undergrad I really struggled with accessibility for my disabling hearing loss. Brentwood classes were small enough that I was able to adapt but once put into a 800+ person lecture I had lots of difficulty. I spent a good portion of my undergrad advocating for closed captioning on videos and lecture recordings. Meanwhile, I was also working on web and software development and bioinformatic research.

After realizing that I enjoyed my work with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing I decided to apply to a Doctorate program in Audiology. I spent a year in a post-baccalaureate program at Western Washington University to finish my prerequisites. I am now in my first year of my four year doctoral program.

I am excited to discuss disability accessibility in university, STEM research and careers, and pivoting academic paths.
