Joe Krysl is a current Graduate student at the University of Victoria in the Department of Computer Science. He started his graduate studies after completing a degree in Health Information Science and Computer Science, also at the UVIC. His study of computer science is focused on the software engineering aspects of the discipline. Joe’s current research work is looking at applying blockchain technology to help secure patient data that is stored in electronic medical records.
While in school, Joe has worked as a Research Assistant where he has helped create a plug in for an electronic medical record system, that is currently undergoing testing, to prevent patients with Inflammatory Arthritis from developing other illnesses. In addition, Joe has lectured a course and works as a teaching assistant for courses in computer science and software engineering.
Joe is looking forward to sharing some of his experience as a student, researcher, and instructor.
