Bachelor of Engineering - Chemical Engineering

Since graduating from Brentwood in 2016, I attended Western University to study Chemical Engineering.

Through co-op terms at Syncrude Canada Ltd and TC Energy, I gained valuable industry experience in chemical refining, energy infrastructure systems, and technology integration. In my final year at Western University, I took part in a research project studying dry powder pulmonary drug delivery and a capstone project designing a chemical plant to convert pulp waste into phenol that won first place in the specialty chemicals category.

I completed my degree in 2021 with distinction and was the recipient of the James M. Hay Gold Medal for academic excellence. Currently, I am working as a Process Contact Engineer in Training for Suncor’s Tailings Operation in Fort McMurray, AB. My role manages the logistics of the water recycled for production usage and ensures tailings ponds are prepared for environmental reclamation. In two years, I will be eligible to apply for my Professional Engineering license and, in the meantime, I hope to continue to develop my skills and technical knowledge in this field.
