Combat Engineer Officer at Canadian Armed Forces

After graduating from Brentwood in 2009, Jaemok attended the Royal Military College of Canada where he studied Civil Engineering. At the Royal Military College of Canada, Jaemok continued his passion for rugby and soccer by playing with the varsity team, while developing his leadership skills through the appointment of several student leadership positions.

Upon graduation from the Royal Military College of Canada in 2013, Jaemok was commissioned as an Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces and went onto finish his Combat Engineer Officer training in Gagetown, New Brunswick. After completing his training, Jaemok was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and posted to 1 Combat Engineer Regiment in Edmonton, Alberta in 2014, where he was assigned as a Troop Commander. During his tenure at 1 Combat Engineer Regiment, he completed his Combat Diver qualification, was promoted to the rank of Captain, commanded his combat engineer troop through multiple tactical exercises and subsequently deployed on Operation UNIFIER in 2017 – Canadian Armed Forces mission to support the Security Force of Ukraine. Following the deployment, Jaemok was assigned as the Personal Assistant to Commander 3rd Canadian Division (Army of the West) from 2017-2019. While working for the Division Commander, Jaemok was given the opportunity to attend and complete the Aumangea Programme – a programme designed to test the resilience of New Zealand Army’s soldiers.

In the summer of 2019, Jaemok was posted to Vancouver, to 39 Canadian Brigade Group Headquarters and is currently being employed as the Operations Officer.

Jaemok enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, playing sports, and spending quality time with friends and family.
