Let’s start from the beginning…well...maybe skip forward a few years.

Andrea Flemming graduated from Brentwood as a lifer in 2000. With a strong competitive drive and longing for adventure, Andrea jumped on the opportunities presented to her at McGill. She focused on the finite balance of varsity field hockey, full academic course loads, part time student employment and of course maintaining a healthy social life. It was during her time in Montreal that her sense of culture, the arts, architecture and living was amused. Andrea took a year away from university to work and travel Europe. This incredible time abroad started the spark that would ignite her fire and lead her on the career path she walks today.

It was the nourishment of adventure, the foundation of academic and competitive confidence and the support of family and community that allowed Andrea to truly listen to her gut and make the path-changing choices that led her to Camosun College and the Hotel Restaurant Management Program. It was a direct path to the industry that both inspired and energized her. Continuing to feed her travelling bug, she completed a co-op in England at a 16th century luxury boutique hotel and then closer to home at the Westin Whistler.

After graduating her program with honours, she worked in various enriching and inspiring boutique restaurants and hotels in Vancouver, England and closer to home back on Vancouver Island before setting her focus and roots deep within entrepreneurship.

Fast forward to today, Andrea celebrates eight years of beating the odds with her very own award-winning boutique Farm to Table Restaurant, Hudson’s On First, in Duncan BC.

Andrea is a true believer in what she does as a restaurateur and how her efforts will continue to elevate, educate and nurture those within her industry and community.
