Mechanical Designer/Mad Inventor, NanoOne Materials Corp.

I have  about 50 years experience in mechanical and electrochemical systems initially for the food processing industry, mostly the fishing industry.

As herring were subsequently overfished, that came to a halt.

That was followed by about 20 years designing parts and systems for fuel cell systems. I was involved in all the aspects of  designing Ballard Power System’s first commercial product, NEXA, taking components of the design from concept to manufactured product. I then moved to PolyFuel, and then Energizer battery, and the UK  outfit Intelligent Energy., before joining NanoOne Materials in Burnaby 11 years ago.

NanoOne is a materials R & D outfit, developing cathode materials for lithium batteries,

I have accumulated over 40 US patents that list me as inventor,

The common theme in all this is materials, as soon as you say, “we need to make a …”,  the next question is “what can we make it out of”?
