Corilee Watters, Manager, Medical Imaging has been a manager in allied health since 1995. In high school she enjoyed the sciences, received Alexander Rutherford scholarship, entering the University of Alberta taking a full science schedule including honors physics.  After my Bachelor’s degree, attending the University of Aberdeen for a Masters degree in science, my thesis had involved radioactive and stable isotopes, then worked in surgery research working with analytical equipment with stable isotopes.  I completed a dietetic internship then working in Cardiology, before becoming Internship Coordinator then Manager for Capital Health, Edmonton.  


Moving to Victoria working for VIHA as Coordinator while completing my doctorate, then moved to University of Hawaii where I conducted research taught both undergraduate and graduate students, including masters and doctoral students.  Relocating to SF Bay area was fortunate to be involved in two new hospital buildings, including leading regulatory and accreditation compliance for the department.  Returning to Vancouver Island, I have worked in research, then now as Manager, Medical Imaging Quality responsible for accreditation and regulatory compliance.


She is thrilled to work with Medical Radiological Technologists (MRTs) and sonographers across Island Health.  MRTs complete a 2 year Diploma in Medical Radiography. The Medical Radiography program trains individuals in X-ray (radiological), MRI, nuclear or radiation therapy.  Radiological Students are trained in areas of computed tomography (CT), fluoroscopy, OR imaging, emergency, interventional procedures and mammography.
