She studied Political Science, Corporate Law, and International Relations, along with extracurriculars such as playing on the university soccer team and co-founding a debate organization. Berit then obtained a master's degree at the Sciences Po Paris School of International Affairs, specializing in International Security with a major in Intelligence and European/North American affairs.

During summer breaks, she took on various roles to build professional experience, including serving as an Administrative Assistant for a law firm in Vancouver, working as a Project Manager for a Berlin-based start-up, and serving as a Junior Business Advisor for Employment and Social Development Canada.

Following her academic pursuits, Berit gained valuable experience as a Constituency Assistant to a Member of Parliament, specializing in outreach efforts, and later as Deputy Campaign Manager to a Member of the B.C. Legislative Assembly. These experiences equipped her with a deep understanding of governmental processes and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.

Eager to contribute to shaping foreign policy, Berit joined the office of former Minister of Foreign Affairs Marc Garneau. Starting as an intern in the Summer Leadership Program, she advanced to the position of Political Advisor to the current Minister of Foreign Affairs, Melanie Joly. In this capacity, Berit played a role in shaping Canada's foreign policy, travelling on diplomatic missions, advising on military and dual-use exports, and deepening Canada's partnerships in the Americas.

Transitioning from the political arena, Berit now works as a Manager of Public Affairs at Canadian Strategy Group. In this role, she leverages her knowledge of Canadian and international politics to help clients achieve their business goals. Berit navigates the intricate landscape of public policy, influencing decision-makers at various levels of governance and facilitating connections between individuals and information to solve a wide range of business challenges.
