Amy has completed her Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) and uses an integrative science-based approach, focusing on Positive Psychotherapy (PPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) a form of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) along with other modalities when deemed best suited to client needs. Amy works in collaboration with her clients to find the best approach for their working style and preference.

Positive psychotherapy (PPT) is a therapeutic approach based on the principles of positive psychology. PPT integrates symptoms with strengths, resources with risks, weaknesses with values, and hopes with regrets in order to understand the inherent complexities of human experiences in a way that is more balanced than the traditional deficit-oriented approach to psychotherapy.

Positive psychology is the scientific study of maximizing human potential for a rich and meaningful life, and ACT is a therapeutic model that fits underneath that umbrella. ACT is similar to its acronym, it's about opening ourselves up to embrace our experiences with flexibility and self-compassion with a focus on how to take actions in alignment with our values.
