After graduating from Brentwood in 1976, Geoffrey attended UBC in the sciences. He intended to enter the UBC School of Medicine but became interested in the emerging science of bionics and prosthetic and orthotic technology. Finding that a new program was being offered in this field at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at UBC and entered the first intake class at BCIT in 1980.

Completing that 2-year clinical training program in 1982, Geoffrey interned for the following three years in prosthetics at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital in Edmonton, and gained his certification in prosthetics in 1985. In 1987 Geoffrey moved to more familiar territory and assumed leadership of the prosthetic and orthotic department in Victoria with what is now the Vancouver Island Health Authority. Geoffrey left VIHA in 1999 to set up Custom Prosthetic Services Ltd in Victoria. He has hundreds of clients all over Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.

Geoffrey has a broad range of experience in all aspects of Artificial Limb, Bionic and Cosmetic Prosthetics for persons of all ages and he keeps abreast of the latest developments in Prosthetic Technology. Active in his professional associations, Geoffrey has helped organize several national conventions, authored professional and scientific papers, is the former Ethics Chairperson for the Canadian Board for Certification of Prosthetists and Orthotists (CBCPO) and he is the past President of the Canadian Association of Prosthetics and Orthotics, (now Orthotics Prosthetics Canada).
