Since graduating from Brentwood in 2004, my education and career has taken me across nine countries on five continents. My experience in healthcare began with my undergraduate degree at The University of Edinburgh, Scotland. I studied biology and specialized in neuroscience and wrote my dissertation on the neurological and psychological basis of music. I worked in clinical research to understand underlying causes of memory impairment in the Himalayas, helped develop a support group for cancer survivors in London, provided primary care to remote communities in Peru, and increased access to trauma support services for refugees in Africa. After returning to my home, San Francisco, I went back to school to obtain a master's degree to become a Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of California, San Francisco. During my studies I worked as an emergency nurse and upon graduation took a job in outpatient internal medicine. In my current role I provide primary care medicine to adults with emphasis on holistic and patient centered health care and will be starting a fellowship in psychiatry at the University of California Irvine in 2022.
