Educational Consultant, Course Developer and Instructor for the Atlantic Water and Wastewater Association
Lorne Johanson has an educational background in zoology, with a master’s degree in environmental science and management. Lorne has 40 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry, initially as a manufacturer’s representative and district manager and later as an educator and consultant.
Lorne has been developing and conducting technical workshops for over 35 years, including 25 years as an instructor and course developer for The British Columbia Water and Waste Association as well as 6 years as an associate faculty member and instructor at Royal Roads University in BC. Water quality and disinfection are his primary areas of expertise. Lorne is active in curriculum and course development and teaches a variety of courses for various disciplines on behalf of the Atlantic Water and Wastewater Association.
When not teaching, Lorne can be found on a hiking trail, Scuba diving, playing tennis or traveling with a camera in search of nature’s wonderful creations. Although always in pursuit but never quite reaching fluency, Lorne loves to converse in German or Spanish when place and time allows.
