Foreign Correspondent and Communications Consultant; News Presenter at Deutsche Welle

I am a reporter, presenter and moderator with over 20 years of experience in print, radio and television. Over that time, I have covered major news stories for some of the world's biggest, and most respected media outlets - all while keeping deadlines, keeping calm, and leading teams. I am an experienced, deadline-driven storyteller, who strives to deliver the "people angle" whether in a conflict zone, while covering an election, or reporting on monetary policy. Most of my work has been in Europe, including Russia and Ukraine. Through my work, I’ve also lived and traveled widely in the United States. I am a Canadian citizen, broadcast-level bilingual in English and French. I also speak workplace German and Russian and can read the press in all these languages. I have reported in conflict zones including Chechnya, Iraq, Kosovo, Afghanistan and Ukraine. Over the past five years I have developed specialised courses in television news storytelling and live on-air performance. I also present the news at Deutsche Welle, volunteer to train human rights defenders, and host conferences if the subject is one I believe in.

In 2016 I founded Berlin News Services - an integrated media services firm offering breaking news and calendar-event coverage, reporting for TV and radio, as well as media consulting for NGOs and human rights defenders.

Here is a link to my News Clip Reel on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHouHHnL2n8

The reel above includes some highlights of my TV work in North America and Europe and other parts of the world. The stories include terror attacks, revolutions, the Taliban, boat launches, Angelina Jolie, floods, wars and a family that lived in an airport for nine months. But some of the best work is in the Libraries below and just involves ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
