Software Engineer at Pinterest
Jae is a software engineer at Pinterest who had a recent career change from clinical research.
After graduating from Brentwood as an Allard house lifer in 2011, she went on to study biology and international studies at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. In 2015, she received her bachelor’s and worked as a Research Assistant in the psych department at Boston Medical Center (BMC). While at BMC, she collected data from patients who were on trial for a medication that could help with alcohol addiction, and also interviewed professional subjects, who made their living from becoming subjects in multiple medical studies. After realizing that research wasn’t her passion, she decided to pursue programming, something she became interested in after organizing hackathons as an undergrad.
She received her Master’s of Computer Science at NYU in 2019 and moved out to Seattle, WA to start her new career. She is currently on an internal tools team at Pinterest.
