Brian grew up in Cobble Hill and after attending Brentwood College as a day student and graduating in 2000, Brian attended the University of Waterloo in Ontario receiving a BASc in Computer Engineering in 2005, and an M.Eng. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University in 2006. As part of his undergraduate degree at Waterloo, Brian completed a number of internships as part of Waterloo’s co-op program as a software developer and in product marketing roles for software and semiconductor companies.
After graduating from Cornell, Brian joined McKinsey and Company in their Los Angeles office as a management consultant working primarily in their technology vertical across a variety of strategy and operations projects traveling extensively for clients in North America, Europe and Asia.
After McKinsey, Brian joined Francisco Partners in 2008 which is a technology-focused private equity firm which has approximately $25 billion of assets under management. He is a Partner of the firm and leads their infrastructure software and enterprise security investing activities. Over the past 12 years Brian has executed a variety of growth equity investments, leveraged buyouts and mergers and acquisitions of software companies and has been a past or present board member of 13 companies ranging in size from $50 million to $1 billion of revenue. He is currently a board member of Beyondtrust, Forcepoint, Perforce Software, Quest Software, Smartbear Software, and SonicWALL.
